We will explore this charming ancient city by bike, visiting its most popular attractions and local villages and examine its unique local culture. Enjoy a trek to the Khouangsi waterfalls to take in the beautiful sights.

ITINERARY

Day 1/  Arrival – Luang Prabang
Welcome to Laos. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Luang Prabang, the World Heritage described by the UNESCO as the best preserved city in South East Asia. We will start with the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham, Wat Mai then climb up to the top of mountain Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a panoramic view of the city at sunset and the Mekong River. We will explore the night market, where you can find a lovely selection of handmade textile made by local and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 2/   Luang Prabang – Ancient town (by bike) (B)
After breakfast, we will explore Luang Prabang by bicycle, a fun and eco-friendly way of exploring the ancient town. After a short briefing to explain you the use of your bicycle, it will be time to start your discovery of Luang Prabang. Start to visit The National Museum at the former Royal Palace, which displays a lovely collection of the artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture dating from the days of the early kings right through the last sovereign. We then ride along the Nam Khan River to visit Wat Xieng Thong, the most revered temple in Luang Prabang. Located at the end of the peninsula, close to the Mekong and it was built in 1560 by King Setthathirat and is decorated with ornate carving and mosaics. Afterthat, we will visit the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Center where you will learn more about local hill tribes in Laos. Next, we will visit Wat Visoun, the holiest temple of the city, which was entirely rebuilt in 1887 after being destroyed by the invading Black Flags from Southern China. In the courtyard of Wat Visoun stands the Watermelon Stupa shaped like the fruit from which it takes its name. Continue past Wat Aham, which was first built in the 1500s. 
Drop your bicycles and have lunch at local restaurant in town (your own account).
In the afternoon, we drive to visit Ban Xang Khong where we learn more about Saa paper. We then visit the Ock Pop Tock weaving centre, an organization that is offering the weavers in the area the chance to earn a decent income through their weaving skills. Overnight in Luang Prabang

Day 3/ Luang Prabang – Trek to Khouangsi waterfall (B,L)
In the morning, we will transfer from hotel to Ban Long Lao (a Hmong Village), before starting the hike to the springs that feed the Khouangsi waterfall. The and trek can be done during 3-4 hours or 4-5 hours depends on the fitness level of Clients.
Lunch will be served at Khouangsi waterfall. We have time to swim and relax there.
After that, transfer back to Luang Prabang with the stop to visit Ban Na Ouane. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 4/ Luang Prabang – Departure (B)
After breakfast, we visit the National museum  at the former Royal Palace, which displays a lovely collection of the artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture dating from the days of the early kings to the last sovereign. You will have free time to explore the town and shopping before heading to airport for onward flight.
